Seems to be that being a Solaris and BSD goon my entire career has saved me a lot of pain in the Linux world regarding things that are everywhere, and everyone uses, but everyone seems to hate, like systemd.
I'm always reluctant to discuss systemd because it seems to pull detractors in like a summoning spell.
But I've been using it for years and never had a problem. I understand most of the criticisms but disagree. I'm not against choice, I'm glad there are other popular options in the Linux ecosystem and the rest of the *nix family.
Never had a problem with it at home or at work either.
@mike i haven't had trouble with it ever, as someone who has worked with a not insubstantial number of Linux servers in my life, so I assumed this was just because I'm unopinionated about how I use it lol
